The Richland Astronomical Society

 Astronomy Network of Ohio

Proud to be a member of the
Astronomy Network of Ohio

We bring the universe

down to Earth!

The Richland Astronomical Society is a nonprofit organization formed in 1960 to promote the advancement of amateur astronomy. Operating the Warren Rupp Observatory with its’ 31" f/7 telescope, conducting an active public education program, regular monthly public nights, and comet observing programs are just some of its’ many activities.

Our membership is as diverse as our hobby. We have teachers, doctors, lawyers, law enforcement people, salespersons, publishers, computer programmers, building contractors, appliance repairmen, electricians, photographers and just about any profession and non-profession you can think of. They even allow people like me to join!
Thanks for visiting us here on the Web! Stop by and see us at the Observatory!

"My my, hey hey.... Rock and roll is here to stay. It's better to burn out, Than to fade away. My my, hey hey.
Out of the blue... and into the black. They give you this, but you pay for that. And once you're gone? you can never come back. When you're out of the blue and into the black.
The king is gone, but he's not forgotten. This is the story of a Johnny Rotten. It's better to burn out than it is to rust. The king is gone... but he's not forgotten.
Hey hey, my my. Rock and roll can never die. There's more to the picture, Than meets the eye. Hey hey, my my."
